Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The charming host Jean-Paul runs very stylish and comfortable accommodation. Beautiful rooms surrounded by lovely grounds with a good-size swimming pool. The fact that it is not 'just another B&B' but part of a small music centre was a bonus for us, as we are both amateur musicians, and it led to some great conversations. Breakfast all you could wish for. Beaumont-sur-Grosne's proximity to the A6 is a bonus for anyone travelling the Saone valley.

Negative: Dog friendly, but we were not informed about the in-house rule that dogs have to be on a lead at all times, effectively denying them the beautiful, extensive grounds. That's a nuisance, especially when eating/socialising outside. It was exceptionally hot during our visit and the absence of air-conditioning, or even of a fan in the room, meant the night was rather less comfortable than it should have been.

Summary: Elegant and fascinating place SE Burgundy. Style and comfort sets it apart from most B&Bs.
